HeBoSint® augments Process Stability in the Manufacture of Tubular Glass and Plate Glass
Where are the down-time risks?
When glass beads are dosed onto so-called spanker plates prior to being transferred to the next step in the manufacturing process, e.g. of cathode ray tubes, there is a risk of undesirable graphite contamination of the spanker plates. In the plate glass industry, guide rollers and scrapers made from Graphite are used. The Graphite is subject to high wear rates which can lead to surface defects.
HeBoSint® reduces down-time risk in hot zones of production lines
HeBoSint®, sintered Boron Nitride from HENZE is the ideal material for spanker plates, distance pieces, scrapers, guide rollers, and other components used in glass manufacturing.
Boron Nitride is not wetted by glass. This is why HeBoSint® virtually presents no risk of caking or contamination. Owing to its outstanding thermal shock resistance and its mechanical stability, components made from HeBoSint® are extremely durable – distinctly more so than graphite parts.
