General properties of HeBoFill®
Standard HeBoFill® grades offer …
- high temperature resistance – in air above 900°C, in vacuum conditions or in a protective atmosphere above 2500°C
- high thermal conductivity
- excellent electrical insulation
- low coefficient of friction
- superb lubricating, sliding and release properties even at high temperatures and in vacuum conditions or in a protective atmosphere
- not wetted by most metal, glass and salt melts
- ecological and physiological safe
Specific properties of HeBoFill®
In addition to the above general properties, there are specific differences among the various HeBoFill® Boron Nitride grades which result from their
- purity – especially their Boron Nitride content
- grain size distribution
- degree of agglomeration
- specific surface area
- crystallinity
- application-specific additives.
These, in turn, will affect their
- interaction with other matrix materials
- ability to form stable dispersions
- dry-lubricating properties
- free-flowing properties and transportability
- thermal conductivity
- electrical insulating properties.
HeBoFill® grades
The following is a selection of standard grades:
| HeBoFill® 12 | Pronounced crystallinity and platelet structure. High purity. Optimally suited for increasing thermal conductivity of polymers thanks to relatively low specific surface area. |
| HeBoFill® 82 | Especially developed for automatic feed in electrostatic powder coating processes such as in the fields of the extrusion of Aluminium or generally in hot forming processes. |
| HeBoFill® 110 | Characterised by its high purity with low boric oxide content. Its high crystallinity ensures a high lubricating effect, and the material is suitable for incorporation in oils and greases. |
| HeBoFill® 205 | Comparable to HeBoFill® 410 but with distinctly narrower grain size distribution. Contains virtually no agglomerates. |
| HeBoFill® 400 | Comparable to HeBoFill® 110, but with significantly lower agglomerate content. |
| HeBoFill® 410 | With the smallest particle size of our standard Boron Nitride Powders, the material has high crystallinity and a high specific surface. It is particularly well suited to coating systems as it adapts well to the surface roughness of the substrate material. |
| HeBoFill® 450 | Elevated purity, very good crystallinity, combined with low specific surface area. Excellent flowability and high bulk density thanks to compact, granular microstructure. Allows high filling degrees and, consequently, elevated thermal conductivity of the compounds. |
| HeBoFill® 630 | Pronounced crystallinity. Exceptionally high specific surface area thanks to three-dimensional, turbostratic crystallite structure. Ideally suited as an additive for lubricants and release agents. |
