General properties of HeBoSint®

All HeBoSint® grades:

  • withstand high temperatures – in air above 850°C, in vacuum conditions or a protective atmosphere above 2500°C.
  • have a low thermal expansion coefficient, elevated thermal conductivity, and – as a result – outstanding thermal shock resistance
  • are chemically inert against most metal, glass and salt melts –  even under extreme conditions
  • will not be wetted by most metal, glass and salt melts

Specific properties of HeBoSint®

The physical properties of HeBoSint® Boron Nitride sintered components depend on:

  • the production process (uniaxial or isostatic pressing)
  • their orientation (in case of uniaxial pressed sinterbodies)
  • the types and quantities of sintering aids and binders used (Boric Oxide and Calcium Oxide)
  • oxidic and non-oxide components added as modifiers

These, in turn, will affect their

  • density
  • mechanical strength
  • sliding and wear behaviour
  • heat resistance and thermoshock resistance
  • thermal conductivity
  • insulating and dielectric strength
  • wettability

HeBoSint® grades

HeBoSint® A

Hot pressed Boron Nitride / Aluminium Nitride composite offering elevated thermal conductivity and optimised mechanical strength.

HeBoSint® C

Calcium doped, hot pressed Boron Nitride -
the all-rounder for high temperatures with high moisture tolerance.
HeBoSint® D Dense, isostatically sintered Boron Nitride for the most demanding requirements in terms of purity and temperature.
HeBoSint® E Electrically conducting, hot pressed Boron Nitride / Titanium Diboride composite.
HeBoSint® O Hot pressed Boron Nitride / Zirconium Oxide composite giving maximum mechanical strength and wear resistance. 
Well-suited for plasma and space applications.
HeBoSint® P Thoroughly washed, hot pressed Boron Nitride with minimum Boric Oxide content for special high temperature applications.
